The conversation around mental health is changing, for men and women. Workplace wellbeing programmes have grown, and initiatives are giving the subject more visible space than it had a decade ago.
For men, though, the signs are often missed or read as something else entirely. Financial pressure, work stress, and strain at home do not always show on the surface. Very often, men manage them privately, and the stigma around asking for help adds another layer men have to work through before they get to the point of reaching out.
Formal help, when it is sought, tends to work better than informal coping. People who consult a professional report more satisfaction than those who do not, yet the region's ratio of mental health workers to population sits below the global median.
